When the video game merged with real life.

Celestial Conquest. A vrmmo which by first appearances had a yearlong open beta.
The game was quite popular during the beta, despite its heavily rng dependant mechanics.
Users would complete dungeons, and instead of being given a chest at the end would be given a pack of cards. These cards could range from a simple potion to increasing a stat by one point.
Elias Hatchet played throughout the open beta for the entire year, constantly collecting cards beyond a reasonable level. Eventually, his character could be classified as the only “Chronomancer” due to his sheer luck in pulling time based magic cards from dungeons.
However, one day, reality and the game merged into one world.
Elias was initially ecstatic, happy that he could use his newfound powers to his advantage. (Mostly to cheat in video-games)
But those short happy days would quickly end when all of the people Elias stole from when he stopped time in the open beta would come to find him.
Elias with his time magic had one last trick up his sleeve. Regression magic.
He’d just simply reverse time before he started stealing from players? Simple, right?
Unfortunately for him, the time before he started stealing from players was… The very moment the game came out.
Elias’s journey then takes place. The journey of (not) being a scum-bag in the original open beta!
